40+ Steps to optimize DB
After 20 minutes and almost 5 minutes of CPU time (according to Activity Monitor) PCP 2.04 has still not completely launched. It was optimizing the database for about 15 minutes (less than 40K hands). Version 2 has been a very frustrating: great new features that are almost completely unusable.
As a side note, if you have a task that involves 40-50 steps why would you display that to the user? When the meter reaches the end, the task should be complete. It would have been comical if I hadn't wanted to play some poker with a HUD.

Inappropriate? If it at least told how many steps there are in total you'll have some idea of how long it will take ....
This happens every time PCP crashes and doesn't close cleanly the embedded database
I’m amused

Inappropriate?Tom,
I've been working on improvements in this area. That is, better database stability, better feedback (it now says step 1 of 60, etc), and the ability to cancel the optimisation process.
My apologies for these ongoing problems. The next update will be a big step forward.
Regards,
Steve
